SHOWDOWN IN SPAIN AS LA LIGA REACHES CRESCENDO

Real Madrid have already been crowned as Champions of 2020/2021 La Liga season. The Los Blancos were confirmed as Champions last week when they beat Villarreal at Estádio Alfredo di Stefano with Barcelona losing at home to Real Osasuna.

Much is still left to play for as the season comes to an end today. The battle for Europe is not over just yet, while the fight for survival surges on.

LEGANES VS REAL MADRID

Real Madrid are priced at 2.14 odds to win this game.
Having won the title already, Zidane could decide to hand starting berths to younger players. Leganes however need to win as their status as a topflight club hangs on this.
Four consecutive clean sheets and three wins in the process have given the Leganes faithful high hopes of survival, and they need to cap that fine form with a win here while also hoping that Celta Vigo faulter against already relegated Espanyol.
Betwizad backs Madrid to win this tie and condemn Leganes back to the lower division.

SEVILLA VS VALENCIA

Few years ago, this tie would have been a top-5 tie. But Valencia over the years have had mixed fortunes. From playing in the Champions league this season, to needing a final day win to qualify for Europa league.
Sevilla are enjoying a ten-game LL unbeaten home run (W5, D5) and have lost only once in 16 (W9, D6). They’ve conceded just once across their latest five games here, but only twice in that 16-match run did they record over 2.5 team goals. On the flip side, they conceded 2+ just four times, but still won twice (D1, L1).
Valencia are winless in ten LL away battles (D3, L7), failing to score in six of the seven losses. In four of those setbacks they shipped 3+ goals, whilst their previous two away wins featured over 2.5 goals. Valencia also have a poor LL away record this season when pre-match underdogs (W1, D2, L9).
Betwizad predicts a straight win for Sevilla as they would want to finish strongly at home even without the fans.

ALAVES VS BARCELONA

Both teams don’t have anything to play for, other than pride in this tie.
Alaves secured their top-flight status with a spirited win against Real Betis, their first in eight games (D1, L6).
Furthermore, the hosts have failed to score in three consecutive LL home games (D1, L2) though they did find the net in the 12 games prior. Yet whilst they’ve netted a league-low average of 0.22 first-half goals per LL home game, slow starts haven’t been much of a hindrance – Alavés have turned a joint league-high six HT home draws into FT wins.
Barcelona lost surprisingly to Osasuna at home during their midweek tie. Since coming back from lockdown, flashes of distraction have been evident in Barcelona’s games as they surrendered the league title to rivals Real Madrid.
Quique Setien has already listed a strong side that contains Messi, Suarez and the likes for this tie. With hopes of silverware this season now hanging solely on the Uefa Champions league, Barca could start their close season revival with a win here.
Betwizad predicts a straight win for Barcelona at 1.56 odds. One can’t overlook the lethargy of Messi and Suarez even in the absence of Griezmann.
