The last match of Sunday’s Ligue 1 involving Lyon vs Marseille was stopped after Dimitri Payet got hit with a bottle from the stands while trying to a corner kick.

It was just 5 minutes into the game when the incident took place. The referee Ruddy Buquet stopped the game immediately and both teams went back to the dressing room

Ligue 1 has been rock by crowd trouble this season.

Recall that Marseille game at Nice in August was abandoned in similar circumstances, it was Payet who who got hit by a bottle and he decided to throw it back into the crowd, causing fans to storm the pitch.

Nice got sanctioned two points, and Payet was given a one-game ban.

The second half of the northern derby between RC Lens and Lille in September got delayed for about half an hour after rival fans threw objects at each other. Fans then ran onto the pitch, prompting riot police and stewards to intervene.
