An unnamed Norwich City player has tested positive for Coronavirus in the latest round of testing.
The said player was involved in a friendly match where Norwich beat Tottenham 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday. The premier league conducted another round of 1200 tests on Thursday and Friday ahead of the league resumption.

Spurs however in a statement released on Saturday, said that the player had no contact with their team and also, they have no positive results from the round. The statement also said the club was following the government’s definition of “close contact” as being within two metres of a confirmed case for 15 minutes or more.
The club added :
“The Norwich player in question has confirmed he had no ‘close contacts’ with our team yesterday and our squad has also verified this.”
There have now been 16 positive results from 8,687 tests in total.

The Canaries – six points from Premier League safety – host 14th place Southampton on Friday, 19 June at 18:00 in their first fixture of the restarted campaign. The player who tested positive for Covid-19 will miss that match.
He will self-isolate for seven days .
