Juventus have confirmed the sale of Rodrigo Bentancur to Tottenham Hotspur.
The midfielder was a regular fixture of the Bianconeri first team after arriving in Turin back in 2017, and he departs with 181 appearances under his belt.
Tottenham’s statement on the transfer read: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus, subject to international clearance and a work permit.
“The midfielder has signed a contract with us until 2026.”
Bringing in Bentancur is a significant boost for Spurs, who have endured a frustrating transfer window so far.
Long-term targets Adama Traore and Dusan Vlahovic both opted to move elsewhere, while even Ollie Tanner – who currently plies his trade with seventh-tier Lewes FC – could not agree personal terms.
Along with Bentancur, Spurs have also announced the signing of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus on an 18-month loan. The loan is said to be worth €10m and the club have an obligation to buy is certain conditions are met.
